Curitiba opens bidding for Bairro Novo do Caximba Linear Park

The Curitiba City Hall has opened a public bidding process for the construction of the Bairro Novo do Caximba Linear Park. The project involves macro-drainage works and the implementation of a park along the banks of the Barigui River, featuring filtration lakes, water retention areas, and leisure spaces.

Designed to prevent flooding and manage human occupation in an Environmental Preservation Area (APA), the project is described as the city’s largest socio-environmental intervention. It aims to provide infrastructure and dignity to 1,693 families in the Vila 29 de Outubro region. The works, which have a maximum estimated value of R$ 183,307,070.25, are partially funded by a 47.6 million euro loan from the French Development Agency (AFD).
