Curitiba-Pinhais viaduct construction reaches new milestone

The construction of the new Curitiba-Pinhais viaduct has reached a new milestone with the completion of the deck slab concreting. This stage, which connects Avenida Victor Ferreira do Amaral to Rodovia João Leopoldo Jacomel, involved the use of 850 cubic meters of concrete across five spans.

The concrete was applied over a pre-assembled metal structure to create a reinforced concrete base. According to Manuela Marqueño, director of the Paving Department at the Municipal Secretariat of Public Works, this was a challenging phase executed in three strictly planned stages.

Following the concrete curing process and ongoing earthwork, the project will move toward asphalt paving. Concurrently, crews are working on installing New Jersey safety barriers and completing the headwall embankments using reinforced earth techniques.
