Curitiba to secure €100 million loan from KfW for electric mobility

The city of Curitiba is set to secure a €100 million loan from the German development bank KfW Bankengruppe. The funds are designated for several urban sustainability projects, including the acquisition of electric buses for the BRT Leste/Oeste and Interbairros II routes.

Additional investments will include the construction of an electric charging terminal for the bus fleet and the installation of photovoltaic panels on urban infrastructure. The contract has received a favorable opinion from the National Treasury Secretariat and is expected to be signed in December. This timeline supports the new public transport concession process, with an auction scheduled for November 26.
