Curitiba transport services prepare for holiday travel and new web series

Curitiba's transport infrastructure is preparing for significant activity during the upcoming All Souls' Day holiday on November 2. The Curitiba Bus Terminal expects approximately 35,000 people to pass through the facility, with 20,000 passengers estimated to depart between October 30 and October 31. Most travelers are expected to head toward the state's interior, followed by the coast of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo. To manage this demand, which is one-third higher than a normal weekend, bus companies are providing extra vehicles. Local authorities, including the Municipal Guard and the Traffic Superintendency (Setran), will be deployed to ensure safety and manage traffic flow.

In a separate development, a new web series titled ‘Curitibus’ is set to premiere on November 5. The four-episode production explores the history and mechanics of Curitiba's public transport system, including the implementation of exclusive bus lanes in 1974 and the evolution of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) model. The series will cover the network's connectivity, the technical aspects of vehicle evolution—from bi-articulated buses to electric models—and the professional workforce that maintains the city's mobility.
