Curro Romero hospitalized in Seville with pneumonia
The legendary Spanish bullfighter Curro Romero, known as ‘el Faraón de Camas’, has been hospitalized at the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena in Seville due to pneumonia. The 92-year-old veteran was admitted this Tuesday following a decline in his health.
Sources close to the family report that his condition is currently satisfactory. He is described as being in good spirits, calm, and has been able to eat without complications. Due to his positive evolution, there is a possibility he may be transferred back to his home in the coming days.
This hospitalization follows a series of health challenges for the bullfighting icon, including respiratory issues in April and complications related to COVID-19 in late 2025. Romero, a recipient of the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, also manages Parkinson’s disease and is a survivor of laryngeal cancer.
