Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary opens new quokka precinct

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has launched a new precinct called Quokka Nook to host quokkas during the September school holidays. As the only location on the Gold Coast where visitors can see the species, the initiative aims to provide close encounters with the animals, which are natively found in limited areas of Western Australia.

The arrival of the quokkas is intended to support the sanctuary’s ongoing wildlife research and conservation efforts. To celebrate the opening, the sanctuary is hosting various activities, including keeper talks, naming competitions for the new arrivals, and special offers for members.
