Curry Barker sets May 2027 release for ‘Anything But Ghosts’

Director Curry Barker has set a theatrical release date of May 7, 2027, for his upcoming horror-comedy, ‘Anything But Ghosts’. The film is being released by Focus Features in partnership with Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.

Co-written by Barker and Cooper Tomlinson, the film stars the duo as amateur ghost hunters whose investigations take a dark turn. The ensemble cast includes Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard, Violet McGraw, and Chris Reinacher. The project is described as having a tone similar to a mix of ‘Key & Peele’ and ‘Hereditary’.

Barker’s previous film, ‘Obsession’, became a massive commercial success, grossing over $500 million worldwide after being acquired by Focus Features following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Barker revealed that during the bidding process for ‘Obsession’, Netflix made an offer to release the film directly on its streaming platform, but the production ultimately moved forward with a theatrical release.
