Curry Barker says he will not rush a sequel to hit film Obsession

Filmmaker Curry Barker, one of the breakout directors of this spring, has just completed a record‑grossing movie that studios are eager to capitalize on. One studio has even offered him $10 million to make any project he chooses.

His next film, *Anything But Ghosts*, has already been shot, and he is writing a reboot of the *Texas Chainsaw Massacre* for A24. When asked what comes after, Barker said he is torn between developing an original screenplay and pursuing franchise work. He confirmed that an immediate sequel to his successful horror hit *Obsession* is not on the agenda, adding that he has a “great idea” for it but will not rush its production.

Barker also mentioned interest in exploring the broader implications of the “One Wish Willow” concept introduced in *Obsession*, hinting at potential thematic spin‑offs.
