Curse of the Crimson Stag gameplay revealed by Daedalic Entertainment

Daedalic Entertainment and developer One-O-One Games have released new gameplay footage for the upcoming mystery thriller, ‘Curse of the Crimson Stag’. The game is a story-driven folk horror title that combines detective work with supernatural investigation.

Players control the protagonist, Brit, who explores the abandoned Whiteroot Hotel and its surrounding forests to uncover the truth behind local legends, specifically the restless spirit known as the Crimson Stag. The developers aim to create a disturbing atmosphere through folk horror elements that function even in daylight, drawing stylistic inspiration from films like ‘Midsommar’.

The experience focuses on atmosphere and subtle tension rather than jump scares, utilizing binaural audio to enhance the soundscape. ‘Curse of the Crimson Stag’ is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.
