European regional sports clubs prepare for 2026/27 season
Various regional and national sports clubs in Italy and San Marino are preparing for the 2026/27 season. In basketball, Novara Basket has added Simone Tarlao to its technical staff to focus on youth development, while Virtus Bologna has begun training despite several key players being away for national team duties. Virtus GVM Roma 1960 has also launched its season ticket campaign.
In football, several clubs are finalizing rosters and schedules. Alghero is set to debut in the Coppa Italia Eccellenza against Usinese, and Gabicce Gradara will face Villa San Martino. In the Eccellenza league, the schedules for Figline and Sangiovannese have been released. Additionally, Paganese is celebrating its centenary with a city march and team presentation, while Battipagliese has announced its upcoming schedule.
Other sports updates include the San Marino Academy Under 22 team presenting its new season under coach Nicola Cancelli, and Lazio Rugby 1927 resuming youth sector activities with a new technical structure. In hockey, Trissino's champions are beginning pre-season training at PalaDante.
