CUSAEM marks 80 years amid debt and professionalization efforts

The Auxiliary Security Bodies of the State of Mexico (CUSAEM) recently marked its 80th anniversary, highlighting both administrative progress and significant financial challenges. While leadership reported advancements in professionalization, infrastructure, and salary increases—including a 56.39% raise for certain operational staff—the organization continues to manage a substantial debt of 8 billion pesos owed to ISSEMyM.

CUSAEM head Carlos Javier Álvarez Cárdenas stated that while efforts are underway to regularize fiscal obligations and settle debts with the SAT, the integration of CUSAEM into the state government structure remains a long-term goal, with projections extending to 2029. The delay is attributed to the massive inherited debt, a workforce of 20,000, and over 4,200 pensioners. The administration is seeking a formal agreement with ISSEMyM, pending confirmation from Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, to address unpaid contributions.
