Cusano Mutri mushroom festival resumes after period of mourning

The 46th Sagra dei Funghi in Cusano Mutri is continuing its program through October 18, following a period of municipal mourning. The town administration previously declared a day of mourning and suspended all festival activities, including musical events and food stands, on Tuesday, September 29, to honor Pasquale Perfetto, a young local resident who died following a road accident.

Mayor Pietro Crocco stated that while the community remains in pain, the decision to resume the festival with sobriety and responsibility is a way to honor the memory of the deceased by continuing to live and celebrate the town's heritage. The festival focuses on gastronomy, local products, and the natural landscape of the Sannio region. Food stands remain open with varying hours throughout the week and weekend.
