Cusco: Fallen tree strikes tourist vehicle near Sacsayhuamán

A eucalyptus tree fell onto the access road to the Sacsayhuamán archaeological park in Cusco, Peru, striking the rear of a vehicle carrying tourists.

The incident occurred on Don Bosco Avenue while pruning work was being conducted on a tree located within a private property near the Salesianos school. While the impact caused material damage to the vehicle and restricted traffic for approximately two hours, no injuries were reported.

Local authorities from the Municipalidad Provincial del Cusco, including the Citizen Security Manager, responded to the scene to clear the debris using chainsaws and redirect traffic. Officials stated they are evaluating the need for preventive pruning of other eucalyptus trees in the area to mitigate similar risks.
