Cusco real estate market sees 27% growth in investment inquiries

The real estate market in Cusco, Peru, is experiencing a significant shift, evolving beyond its traditional role as a tourist destination into a regional economic hub for diverse investment profiles. According to data from Century 21 Perú, inquiries and referral requests related to real estate opportunities in the region grew by 27% over the last year.

Julio Muñiz, CEO of Century 21 Perú, noted that the region now sees a convergence of local demand, national capital, and international buyers. The market is driven by four primary segments: investment for short-term rentals, first-time home purchases, second residences, and wealth diversification.

Investment properties, particularly those aimed at short-term rentals, often feature price points between US$ 80,000 and US$ 180,000. Geographic demand varies by area: the Historic Center, San Blas, and Wanchaq focus on short-term rentals driven by tourism; Magisterio and San Sebastián see growth in modern apartments for local residents; and the Sacred Valley attracts buyers interested in second homes and patrimonial assets.
