Nipsey Hussle's custom 1959 Impala to head to auction

A custom 1959 Chevrolet Impala featured in DJ Khaled’s “Higher” music video is scheduled for auction at the Mecum Monterey 2026 event on August 15. The vehicle, which features the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, is expected to fetch between $175,000 and $225,000.

The baby blue lowrider is equipped with a 283 CI V-8 engine, Dayton wire wheels, and a custom hydraulic suspension system designed by Ron Aguirre. The car holds significant cultural value due to its appearance in the music video filmed in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South Los Angeles, which was released shortly before Hussle’s assassination in 2019.

The song “Higher,” which also features John Legend, earned a posthumous Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance and achieved RIAA Gold status.
