Custom Chevrolet El Camino vehicles featured in recent sales

Two unique Chevrolet El Camino vehicles have appeared for sale, each featuring unconventional histories or modifications.

A 1971 Chevrolet El Camino, finished in Burgundy Wine, is being offered with a highly unusual engine transplant. Instead of a traditional GM V8, the vehicle has been fitted with a Toyota 3.0-liter 2JZ-GTE VVT-i inline-six turbocharged engine, a modification originally created for the All Supra Show in Las Vegas. The car features LED headlights and 18-inch American Racing wheels.

Separately, a custom 1963 Chevrolet El Camino is up for sale as a project vehicle. Because Chevrolet did not produce an El Camino in 1963, this vehicle was originally a Bel Air four-door station wagon that underwent structural modifications to create a pickup bed. The owner, who acquired the vehicle in the Philippines, suggests the car is a strong candidate for electric conversion due to the significant space available beneath the bed floor.
