Customs officials seize 407 alcohol bottles at Farga de Moles

Authorities at the Farga de Moles customs office in Lleida intercepted 407 bottles of various brands of alcohol hidden in a vehicle with French license plates. The vehicle, carrying two occupants, was traveling from Andorra toward Spain on August 13.

During a fiscal control, the occupants initially claimed to be carrying only “a little alcohol.” However, a subsequent inspection revealed the large quantity of undeclared goods, valued at approximately 900 euros. One occupant admitted ownership of the alcohol, stating it was purchased in Andorra with the intention of selling it in France.

A more thorough search of the vehicle uncovered 1,500 euros in cash and a folding knife hidden within the interior side moldings, areas not visible to the naked eye. The Tax Agency is processing the incident as a suspected administrative smuggling infraction, and the seized alcohol has been deposited at the customs office.
