Cuti Carabajal hospitalized with bilateral pneumonitis

Renowned Argentine folk musician and composer Cuti Carabajal, 79, has been hospitalized in Santiago del Estero following a diagnosis of bilateral catarrhal pneumonitis, pneumonia, and asthma.

His daughter, Pamela Carabajal, reported that the musician’s respiratory symptoms began several days ago but worsened due to a demanding performance schedule and low temperatures. Despite feeling chest heaviness, coughing, and fatigue, the artist continued with his scheduled shows, including a recent performance at the Mercedes Sosa Theater in San Miguel de Tucumán as part of the ‘Trilogía Santiagueña’ production.

Upon returning from Termas de Río Hondo, his condition necessitated immediate medical attention. He was admitted to a central clinic for treatment and monitoring. His family has expressed that his clinical evolution is favorable and has asked for calm regarding his health status.
