Cutro council group proposes tax relief for families with disabled children

The “Costruiamo il Futuro” council group in Cutro has submitted a motion requesting the municipal administration to evaluate the elimination or reduction of the local IRPEF surcharge for families with children who have certified disabilities.

Council members Rino Lerose, Francesca Paccagnella, and Valentina Scarpino argue that the proposal is a matter of equity rather than privilege. They highlight that these families face significant additional costs for therapies, rehabilitation, assistance, transport, and specialized education, often alongside reduced employment opportunities for caregivers.

The motion calls for technical, legal, and financial assessments to determine if a total exemption is feasible under current regulations and municipal budget constraints. If a full cancellation is not possible, the group suggests implementing alternative forms of tax reduction or economic support based on family income and specific needs.
