Cuttack: Seven-year-old girl abducted from railway station

A seven-year-old girl has gone missing from the Cuttack railway station in Odisha while waiting to board a train with her maternal grandparents. The elderly couple, from the Aul area of Kendrapara, was traveling to Pallahara in Angul when the child disappeared.

CCTV footage from the area reportedly shows the girl walking away with an elderly man. The footage captured the suspect purchasing an item from a shop in the Chauliaganj locality before leading the child away. While the visuals provide a lead, the identity and current location of the suspect and the girl remain unknown.

Following reports that the Government Railway Police initially declined to register a complaint, a missing person report was lodged with the Chauliaganj police. DCP Rishikesh Dnyandeo stated that three special investigation teams have been formed to launch a manhunt. Authorities have released a photograph of the suspected kidnapper and announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to the identification of the suspect or the rescue of the child.
