Cuxhaven: Elderly woman fulfills final wish to visit North Sea home

Iris, a woman over 100 years old receiving palliative care in a nursing facility in the Schaumburg district, fulfilled a final wish to return to Cuxhaven on the North Sea.

For 15 years, the Hotel Strandperle had served as a second home for Iris and her late husband, Heiner. The trip was made possible by the ASB-Wünschewagen, an organization that fulfills special wishes. Accompanied by her daughter, son-in-law, and two volunteer companions, Iris was able to revisit the familiar routines and locations that held significant family memories.
