CVC Capital Partners acquires majority stake in OpenRent

CVC Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in OpenRent, the United Kingdom’s largest rental agency by transaction volume. The investment, which is subject to regulatory approval, is intended to fund the platform’s next phase of growth and technological innovation.

OpenRent aims to use the partnership to simplify the rental process for both landlords and tenants by reducing friction between finding properties, organizing viewings, and finalizing contracts. Co-founders Adam Hyslop (CEO) and Darius Bradbury (CTO) will remain significantly involved and continue to lead the company’s management.

The deal highlights growing investor interest in PropTech, specifically in digital services that can manage the complexities of the fragmented rental market through data-driven tools and streamlined digital workflows.
