CVC DIF acquires Gabriela solar-plus-storage project in Chile
CVC DIF has completed the acquisition of the Gabriela project in Northern Chile from the Spanish renewable energy producer Grenergy. The transaction, which was first announced in September 2025, was finalized following the project reaching its commercial operation date.
The Gabriela project is a utility-scale hybrid solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) featuring 272 MW of installed solar capacity and 1,100 MWh of battery storage. The deal carries an enterprise value of approximately US$475 million. The facility is supported by a 15-year, USD-denominated, inflation-indexed hybrid power purchase agreement (PPA).
This acquisition represents the fourth phase of Grenergy’s Oasis de Atacama platform. Grenergy will continue to provide operation and maintenance services for the assets for a period of five years. The project's construction was supported by a US$324 million green loan involving a consortium of international financial institutions.
