CVC DIF to acquire majority stake in firstcolo

CVC DIF has agreed to acquire a significant majority stake in firstcolo Holding GmbH from Cube Infrastructure Managers. The transaction, expected to close by the end of September 2026, will be executed through the DIF Value Add IV fund.

Based in Frankfurt, firstcolo operates two established colocation data centers and serves over 350 enterprise customers through cloud, connectivity, and managed services. The investment is intended to support the company’s expansion into a leading German colocation platform.

A primary component of this growth strategy is the FRA7 greenfield development in Rosbach, located in the Frankfurt metropolitan region. This new facility is being designed to meet the high-density demands of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. The site is planned to provide up to 24 MW of total capacity, featuring infrastructure capable of supporting liquid-cooled racks of up to 200 kW.

To support sustainability, firstcolo has partnered with regional energy provider OVAG to secure power and intends to integrate waste heat from the FRA7 facility into local district heating networks.
