CVG-SP discusses evolution and potential of group life insurance
The CVG-SP hosted a seminar titled ‘Group Life – a market of opportunities and transformation’ to discuss the evolution of collective insurance. Experts analyzed how the sector is expanding its portfolio with new coverages suitable for companies of all sizes and how artificial intelligence can be utilized to grow the business.
Industry specialists noted that while group life insurance accounts for a significant portion of personal insurance revenue, a large gap in protection remains for Brazilian workers. Jarbas Medeiros, an executive at Porto Seguro, highlighted that despite an 8.5% annual growth in collective insurance, approximately 32 million workers in Brazil still lack this protection.
Discussions emphasized the need to make life insurance more accessible, simpler, and more comprehensive by including benefits that can be used during the policyholder's lifetime, shifting the perception of insurance from a corporate cost to a tangible value-add.
