Cwmbran housing project to develop 29 homes on former Lidl site

Construction is expected to begin soon on a new housing development at the site of a former Lidl supermarket on Woodside Road in Cwmbran. Monmouthshire Housing Association and partner Hale Group plan to develop 29 homes at the location.

Torfaen County Borough Council has approved a construction environmental management plan (CEMP) required for the project. The plan aims to protect air quality, manage traffic, and safeguard local trees and hedgerows to minimize the impact on neighboring residents. The council's highways and environmental protection teams have reviewed and accepted the proposals.

Demolition and construction were estimated to start within six to eight weeks of August, with a projected build program lasting approximately 78 weeks.
