CWP Food Manufacturing sets Asia and ASEAN records with dual-color sweet potato chips

CWP Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd has achieved Asia and ASEAN records for its Double Triple Sweet Potato snack. The product, branded under Snackiss, is recognized as the first halal sweet potato chip to combine two different varieties—purple and orange sweet potatoes—into a single chip.

Managing Director Yanice Cheong Ming Yan stated that the innovation was inspired by childhood memories of eating sweet potato soup. The combination aims to leverage the superior flavor of purple sweet potatoes with the better texture of orange sweet potatoes. The recognition was awarded at the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026 held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

Based in Ipoh, the company has grown from a small enterprise founded in 2008 into an exporter serving markets in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. The product maintains JAKIM halal certification and adheres to food safety standards, reflecting the company's strategy to modernize traditional snacks for global markets.
