CXMT overtakes Tencent as China's most valuable listed company

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has overtaken Tencent to become China's most valuable listed company. Driven by the global surge in demand for AI-related hardware, CXMT's market capitalization reached approximately 524 billion USD.

CXMT, a major manufacturer of DRAM chips, has benefited from rising memory prices and a shortage of supply. The company's growth is further supported by significant contracts, including a five-year deal with ByteDance valued at over 7 billion USD and a 3 billion USD agreement with Tencent for DRAM server memories.

Tencent, previously the most valuable company in China, saw its market capitalization fall to roughly 510 billion USD following a 4.46% drop in share price. While Tencent remains significantly larger in terms of revenue, investor focus has shifted toward essential hardware providers like CXMT as the AI boom accelerates. CXMT's inclusion in the MSCI China All Shares Index has also bolstered its valuation.
