Cyberabad Municipal Corporation demolishes 185 unauthorised structures

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has demolished 185 unauthorised structures in Hyderabad between August 24 and September 3. The enforcement drive has primarily targeted Narsingi and Miyapur, which together account for nearly 30 percent of the demolitions. The Serilingampally zone recorded the highest number of demolitions with 69 structures, followed by Quthbullapur with 52 and Kukatpally with 33.

Many violations involve constructions on plots smaller than 60 square yards that exceed the permitted stilt-plus-two floor limit. Officials noted instances of buildings reaching up to eight floors on small plots. This intensified crackdown follows a fatal incident in Gachibowli, where the collapse of an unauthorised seven-storey building killed two workers.

In Madhapur, authorities are awaiting a structural stability report to determine if a building in Siddique Nagar requires removal. Residents have reported cracks in beams and pillars, alleging that adjacent construction caused the damage. Officials, in coordination with Hydraa, will decide on further actions once the technical assessment is complete.
