CyberAgent shuts down Dot Gift service after breach; Sagin Digital Partners reports mail server hack
CyberAgent announced that its digital‑gift platform “Dot Gift” will be discontinued on 30 September 2026 after a June 8 unauthorized access forced a suspension of the service and raised concerns over user data safety. The company said personal information will be erased in accordance with relevant laws and its privacy policy after the shutdown.
Sagin Digital Partners revealed that on 8 July its corporate mail server was accessed by an external party, which used the company’s domain to send spam messages. No customer data was accessed, and the firm is enhancing its anti‑intrusion systems, updating security settings, and urging recipients to delete any suspicious emails.
