Cyberattacks rise in Czech Republic as cloud exploitation speeds up

Cybersecurity threats are intensifying for both regional organizations and cloud environments. In the Czech Republic, companies faced an average of 2,671 cyberattacks per week in July, marking a 17 percent year-on-year increase. Czech organizations experienced 335 more weekly attacks than the European average. The education sector was the most targeted, averaging 4,848 attacks per week per organization, followed by public administration and telecommunications.

On a global scale, the speed of exploitation is accelerating. According to a Fortinet report, the window between the disclosure of a vulnerability and its actual exploitation has shrunk from approximately one week to just 24–48 hours. In the past year, attackers conducted 150 million reconnaissance attempts and 2.3 billion brute-force password attempts in cloud environments.

Security experts note that attackers are increasingly using automated mapping and stolen credentials to bypass defenses. Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence in corporate settings has introduced new risks; research shows that a significant portion of AI-related queries from corporate networks contain potentially sensitive information, increasing the risk of data leaks.
