Cyberattacks target retailers and service providers
Recent cyberattacks have targeted several major brands and service providers, exposing customer personal data. Companies such as Hobbs and ASOS have been identified as recent targets, raising concerns about the exploitation of personal information by criminals.
In a separate incident, the media outlet Valeurs actuelles reported that a service provider managing its online shop was targeted by a cyberattack on October 20, 2026. A hacker claimed on an online forum to have published customer data, which reportedly included names, postal addresses, email addresses, and encrypted passwords related to purchase invoices and subscriptions. The provider has since secured its systems, corrected the vulnerability, and reset affected passwords.
To mitigate risks such as credential stuffing, experts recommend using unique passwords for every website and utilizing password managers. Users are also advised to remain vigilant against phishing attempts that mimic official brand communications and to monitor bank statements for unauthorized transactions.
