CyberMonday 2026 sets transaction record in Chile

The first day of CyberMonday 2026 in Chile set a new record for transactions, with 1.9 million operations recorded by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS). This represents an 18% increase in volume compared to 2025, surpassing the previous record set in 2021.

Total sales for the first 24 hours reached US$176 million, a nominal growth of 2% over the same period last year. However, the average ticket size dropped by 14% to $90,000 CLP, a trend the CCS attributes to increased consumer caution and a preference for lower-value products. Growth was led by the Diverse Services (+71%), Pharmacy (+45%), and Supermarket (+19%) sectors, while durable goods, clothing, and footwear saw declines.

Despite the record transaction volume, digital engagement remains low. An analysis by the consultancy Simbiu indicates discrete levels of social media interaction, with only 2,200 unique posts and 197,000 interactions recorded by mid-day on October 6. The data suggests that much of the digital conversation is driven by media outlets rather than organic consumer enthusiasm.
