Cybersecurity certifications do not guarantee immunity to attacks
Cybersecurity certifications, such as the international ISO 27001 standard, provide a systematic framework for organizing information security through risk assessment, defined responsibilities, and documented processes. However, these certifications do not guarantee that a company is immune to cyberattacks.
In the podcast ‘Sicherheitsvorsorge – Real Talk’, Maximilian Pfister explains that while a certification confirms that information security is being managed systematically, it is not a guarantee of absolute invulnerability. This distinction is critical for businesses, particularly medium-sized enterprises, to understand the difference between structured security management and total protection against evolving threats.
