Cybersecurity demand rises in Japan amid increasing attack threats

Cybersecurity demand is rising across Japan as companies and institutions seek to strengthen defenses against increasing cyberattacks. In Ishikawa Prefecture, IT firms report a surge in consultations regarding the implementation and updating of security systems. Some companies, such as System Support in Kanazawa, have seen sales increase by approximately 30 percent following major system failures at large corporations like Asahi Group Holdings. Inquiries are particularly frequent from the financial, manufacturing, and public infrastructure sectors.

In response to the rising threat, the Tochigi Prefectural Police held its first cybersecurity seminar specifically designed for corporate executives. Approximately 40 participants from medical, educational, and financial institutions attended the session to learn about preventative measures and response protocols for when breaches occur.
