Cybersecurity experts warn against using predictable PIN codes

Cybersecurity experts are warning users to immediately change predictable PIN codes on bank cards and mobile devices to prevent unauthorized access and financial theft. Data breach analyses indicate that hackers frequently target common, easily guessable combinations to gain access to personal accounts.

High-risk patterns include sequential numbers (such as 1234), repeated digits (0000 or 1111), and symmetrical patterns (such as 5656 or 6969). Experts also advise against using personal information, such as birth dates or anniversaries, as these are easily discovered by attackers who possess basic information about the user.

To improve security, users are encouraged to select unpredictable combinations for every unique device or account. Changing a PIN does not require replacing hardware; it is a simple step that serves as a critical first line of defense for personal data and finances.
