Cybersecurity experts warn of rising digital vulnerabilities and response protocols
Cybersecurity experts are highlighting critical vulnerabilities and response protocols to mitigate the impact of digital attacks on individuals and businesses.
In the immediate aftermath of a hack, specialists recommend a rapid containment strategy. Within the first two minutes, users should disconnect devices from all internet connections, including Wi-Fi and cables, to prevent data extraction. Following this, users should change compromised passwords using secure devices, enable multi-factor authentication, and monitor linked accounts, such as banking and email, for unauthorized activity.
On the corporate side, an analysis by Inside Security revealed that 50.3% of vulnerabilities detected during the first half of 2026 were classified as high or critical risk. These flaws often stem from configuration errors, deficient access controls, and insecure application development.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly vulnerable due to the misconception that cyberattacks only target large corporations. Experts note that many of these breaches are preventable through basic secure development processes and identifying flaws before applications reach production.
