Cybersecurity threats rise via Telegram insider recruitment and AI-driven financial fraud

TrendAI, an entity of Trend Micro, has identified a growing criminal ecosystem on Telegram where employees are recruited to sell internal corporate access and actions. This clandestine market uses brokers and escrow services to bypass multi-factor authentication and approval workflows. Criminals pay employees to perform specific tasks, such as validating transactions, generating shipping labels, or falsifying delivery confirmations, effectively turning legitimate staff into insider threats.

In France, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has issued a warning against BitKeltTrade, a fraudulent platform that has been added to its blacklist. The platform targets investors by using artificial intelligence and mirror sites to impersonate recognized media outlets. Operating without legal authorization, BitKeltTrade poses a high risk of total fund loss for users, as the entity is not registered with the REGAFI.
