Cycling and hiking excursions in South Tyrol and Southern Styria
Individual outdoor activities have been documented in South Tyrol, Italy, and Southern Styria, Austria, during the autumn season.
A road cycling route in South Tyrol begins in Bolzano, traveling through Rentsch and Klobenstein toward Pemmern on the Ritten plateau. The 50-kilometer route involves approximately 1,500 meters of elevation gain and offers views of the Dolomites and the Schlern massif.
In Southern Styria, a bike and hike tour was conducted starting from the Pölfing-Brunn train station. The route follows the Saggautal cycle path (R20) through Udelsdorf and Oberhaag to reach the Altenbach Gorge. The excursion combines cycling through vineyards and chestnut trees with a 5-kilometer hike.
