Cycling campaigns promote sustainable mobility in Hungary and Romania

Various regional initiatives are promoting sustainable urban transport and road safety through cycling-focused campaigns in Hungary and Romania.

In Hungary, the Magyar Kerékpárosklub has launched its ‘Bringázz a munkába!’ (Cycle to Work!) autumn campaign. Spanning approximately 170 locations across the country, the initiative provides breakfast and snacks to commuters using bicycles. In cities like Kecskemét, the program includes professional services such as bicycle maintenance advice and quick repair demonstrations to encourage everyday urban cycling.

In Romania, the ‘Breakfast 4 Bikers’ project is being held in Târgu Mureș as part of European Mobility Week. Organized by the Maros Community Foundation in collaboration with the Mureș County Police Department, the event offers breakfast to cyclists and electric scooter users. Beyond food, the initiative focuses on road safety education, with police discussing traffic regulations, necessary equipment, and visibility. This follows a period of significant accidents in Mureș County involving cyclists and scooter users.
