Cycling enthusiasts undertake long-distance journeys across Italy

Various cycling journeys and community activities are taking place across Italy this summer. Cristian Caldarelli and his 12-year-old son, Mattia, completed a multi-day bicycle trip from Pontirolo to Livorno. To avoid heavy traffic and heat, they prioritized unpaved roads and embankments, traveling primarily in the mornings.

Members of the Roma Ciclismo group are also engaged in extensive summer rides. Cristina Rulli completed a 1,200-kilometer Florence-Rome-Florence route in under 80 hours, sharing much of the journey with former Olympic fencer Dorina Vaccaroni. Additionally, group member Luigi Maura encountered the musician Jovanotti while cycling from Rome toward Rieti.
