Cycling events expand regional participation in France and Canada
The 51st edition of the Critérium Souvenir Vincent Moreau is set to take place in Saint-Jean-de-Monts, France. Organized by the Saint-Jean-de-Monts Vendée Cyclisme association, the event expects more than 160 riders. The program includes two races, with access and open categories scheduled for 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM respectively.
In Canada, a regional road cycling final was held in Baie-Comeau, Côte-Nord, marking a significant development for local athletes. This event allows young cyclists from the region to prequalify for the 2027 Jeux du Québec, a possibility that had been unavailable for nearly a decade. The initiative, supported by the Fédération québécoise des sports cyclistes and local clubs like Les Fous Braquets, aims to expand road cycling participation in regions previously focused on mountain biking.
