Cycling events scheduled in Spain and Uruguay

The Club Ciclista Sport Tomelloso is organizing a new edition of the ‘Ruta del Estraperlo’ cycling journey this Saturday. The route connects Tomelloso with La Puerta de Segura in Jaén, covering more than 180 kilometers. The event serves as a historical tribute to those who traveled to Andalusia during the post-war rationing years to obtain essential goods, such as olive oil.

In Uruguay, the 9th edition of the ‘Desafío KM 248’ mountain bike challenge is set for November 22. Organized by the Asociación Concordiense Amigos del MTB, the event features 38 km and 72 km circuits. Due to the rising levels of the Uruguay River, organizers have modified the route to provide new scenery and have changed the start and finish locations to the area adjacent to the Kilómetro 248 Tourist Complex.
