Cycling infrastructure developments in the Toruń region

Cycling infrastructure is seeing significant developments in the Toruń region. A new one-kilometer bitumen bicycle path in Turzno was officially opened on October 9. The project, which cost over 770,000 PLN, was co-financed by Toruń County and the Lysomice Municipality. The investment included rebuilding junctions, installing safety elements, and adding necessary signage to improve connectivity within the county's cycling network.

In Toruń, the City Hall has launched public consultations to improve cycling conditions in the Old Town area. Residents and business owners are invited to provide feedback on pavement quality, one-way street access, route continuity, and bicycle parking. The consultation process includes a diagnostic bike ride on October 20 and an open meeting on October 27 to discuss proposed changes aimed at balancing the needs of cyclists, pedestrians, and the historic character of the city.
