Cycling initiatives launched in São Paulo and Salvador
New cycling-focused programs have been announced in Brazil to promote economic development and social inclusion.
In São Paulo, the City Hall and Instituto Aromeiazero are offering a free training course in Parelheiros focused on cycle tourism and regenerative tourism. The program provides 20 spots for residents and entrepreneurs to learn how to create income-generating opportunities linked to the Trilha Interparques, an 182-kilometer route through the Atlantic Forest. The initiative aims to transform local natural attractions into commercial services for cyclists.
In Salvador, the Pedal Bicicross Project is opening 46 free spots for adolescents aged 13 to 16 to learn BMX. Supported by over R$ 1 million from the Bahia State Government, the project serves approximately 200 students, most of whom are from public schools or peripheral areas. The program provides equipment, professional instruction, and opportunities for national and international competition, focusing on social inclusion through sports.
