Cycling news: Eduardo Sepúlveda, Curicó Open, and Vuelta a Guatemala legends

Professional cycling news highlights include Argentine cyclist Eduardo “Balito” Sepúlveda visiting Chubut Deportes following a successful international season. Competing for the Chinese team Li Ning Star, the 35-year-old secured victories at the Oita Urban Classic in Japan and the Dhofar Classic in Oman, as well as a second-place finish in the Tour de Salalah. Sepúlveda is currently focusing on Olympic qualification goals for 2027.

In Chile, Cristian Arriagada of the Quality Lab team won the Elite category at the 35th Open de Ciclismo de Curicó. The event, which supports students with special educational needs, has been designated as a national qualifier for the Santiago 2027 Special Olympics.

In Guatemala, the history of the Vuelta a Guatemala celebrates its most successful riders. Only four cyclists—Aureliano Cuque López, Edín Roberto Nova, Manuel Rodas, and Mardoqueo Vásquez—have achieved the distinction of winning the prestigious race twice since its inception in 1957.
