Cycling teams battle for UCI points to secure Grand Tour entries

Professional cycling teams are engaging in intense competition for UCI points to secure status and race entries for upcoming seasons. These points are critical for determining WorldTour licenses and wildcard invitations for major races like the Tour de France and Vuelta a España.

Euskaltel-Euskadi has traveled to Panama to boost its ranking, recently securing first, second, and fourth place finishes in a one-day race. This performance helped the team move up to 28th in the UCI rankings, placing them within the top 30 teams eligible for wildcard consideration.

In Japan, TotalEnergies secured the third position in the Pro Tour rankings following strong performances at the Utsunomiya Japan Cup Road Race. This achievement grants them automatic entry into major Grand Tours. Meanwhile, Unibet Rose Rocketts fell short of the top three despite strong results in the Eneco Tour, meaning they must now rely on wildcard selections.
