Cyclist dies in road accident on C-147 in Alt Àneu

A 59-year-old cyclist from Tremp died on Tuesday afternoon following a fall on the C-147 road in the municipality of Alt Àneu, Pallars Sobirà. The accident occurred at kilometer marker 135.2, and emergency services, including Mossos d’Esquadra patrols, a Bombers de la Generalitat helicopter, and a Medical Emergency System (SEM) unit, were deployed to the scene.

The exact causes of the fall are currently under investigation. This incident brings the provisional death toll on Catalan roads for 2026 to 89 people, according to data from the Servei Català de Trànsit. Among the fatalities this year, six have been cyclists, 33 motorcyclists, 10 pedestrians, four tractor drivers, and one scooter rider.
