Cyclist killed in collision with truck near Pluwigerhammer, Germany

A 57‑year‑old male cyclist was fatally injured in a collision with a 34‑year‑old truck driver on the L143 road near Pluwigerhammer, Germany. The truck turned onto the L146 towards Schöndorf when the cyclist, travelling from Hinzenburg, was struck. The cyclist died at the scene, while the truck driver sustained only minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police and the traffic accident reconstruction team from the Trier police headquarters conducted an extensive investigation. The crash site remained closed until early evening, with detours arranged by local road authorities. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
