Cyclist killed in Defu industrial area trailer accident

A 62-year-old woman died following a collision between her bicycle and a trailer in the Defu industrial area on Thursday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. at the junction of Defu Avenue 1 and Defu Lane 7.

Paramedics from the Singapore Civil Defence Force pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Reports indicate the cyclist may have been dragged for approximately 70 meters following the impact.

A 43-year-old trailer driver allegedly left the scene before police arrived but was subsequently arrested. He is currently being investigated for careless driving causing death. Authorities cordoned off the area for over seven hours to conduct a forensic investigation.
